About
Richard Cowdry is a British cartoonist living in Berlin. A New Talent Award winner of the Sierre Bande Dessinee Festival, he created the satirical humor strip DownTown for the Stool Pigeon music magazine, of which Rob Clough said "I could have easily read a book full of these strips, and their mix of social & political commentary and flawless comedic timing make them unusual in the world of comics.". His work has appeared in Black Eye from Rotland Press, plus the Oxford American, Vice Magazine, Stripburger, Jungleworld, and many zines and anthologies of contemporary comics. He is also the creator and editor of The Bedsit Journal ("deeply amusing" - Roger Sabin, "really refreshing" - Alexander Zograf), and The Comix Reader, the UK's premier comix newspaper, which was nominated for Best Alternative Comic at the Festival de la Bande Dessinée d'Angoulême. He is currently writing and drawing a graphic novel about the history of paleontology.
